In the spring of 2000 the "Keremeos and District Chamber of Commerce" and "Keremeos & South Similkameen Economic Development Committee" amalgamated to form one solid group with one common goal.  Tourism, Economic Development and Chamber are the main Components of Similkameen Country.

"Similkameen Country" encompasses the South Similkameen Valley in the South central interior of British Columbia Canada. Stretching from the Pioneer mining town of Hedley in the West, through Keremeos, Cawston, Olalla to Chopaka in the East. We are located along the Crowsnest Highway #3, the major Southern British Columbia trans-provincial highway. For travelers heading East from the BC Coast and Fraser Valley, we are the gateway to the Canadian Okanagan Valley and Boundary/Kootenay Regions. We are in the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Region.

We are the land of Abundance and Adventure. Blossoms and Bouquet Historical Sites, Agri-tourism and Natures Beauty awaits you in Spectacular "Similkameen Country." Get a taste of small town BC, visit our Pioneer ‘Grist Mill", Museums, Fruit Markets Wineries and many Artisans.  We have many claims to fame- "Fruit Stand Capital of Canada", ‘Organic Capital of Canada", "BC’s Garden of Eden", "The Best kept Secret in British Columbia" are some of the titles bestowed upon us by locals and visitors alike.

Through it's activites, Simlkameen Country will progressively promote The Cultural Strengths and Community Development of the Similkameen Valley
